Better Covid Testing for Homecare Workers

Better Covid Testing for Homecare Workers

It’s hard to believe that COVID-19 is still playing such an active role in all of our lives. As the world continues to adapt to the pandemic, we are also adapting to ensure the safety of our care workers and those we care for. The safety and wellbeing of our staff and clients always come first.

This blog post gives an overview of the guidelines that our carers are following to keep you or your loved one safe. Read on to discover how home care in Romford has adapted to Covid.

Weekly Coronavirus tests for homecare workers

We’re pleased to announce that home care workers now have access to the same level of testing as those working in care homes do. This means they are being offered weekly PCR tests which they can administer at home. PCR testing aims to help identify more asymptomatic cases. By administering a PCR test and ensuring a negative result before going to work, our carers ensure they are not putting those who are more vulnerable to the virus at risk. The PCR tests are in addition to wearing a mask and using hand sanitiser regularly.

How homecare ensures the safety of you or your loved one

Our compassionate carers are committed to providing you or your loved one with high-quality care tailored to your specific needs and wishes. However, if you or your loved one tests positive for COVID-19, we may need to reduce the number of care visits or reallocate duties. Any changes will be made in agreement with your social worker or family members. We will always consider the needs, feelings and wishes of you or your loved one and will do our very best to find a solution that meets your needs.

What to do if you or your loved one tests positive

If you or your loved one are receiving care and test positive or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, you are asked to contact NHS 111 either by telephone or online. Of course, please also let us know so that we can take the next steps or make any necessary changes. We will work with other community providers of care, such as district nurses, GPs or other health professionals who are involved, to review and assess the impact of risk on you or your loved one’s care needs.

Care you can rely on

We are devoted to providing excellent care services that exceed your expectations through every hurdle or obstacle that life throws our way. Our capable, professional and reliable carers are truly committed to providing the best quality of care at all times. We know that this is an uncertain time for many, and it’s natural to feel overwhelmed, anxious or perhaps even downright scared of what the future may bring. Please know that our carers are here to support you or your loved one every step of the way. Although the journey ahead may seem uncertain and frightening, together we can get through this.
