What is reablement care?

Understanding NHS reablement care
The NHS offers temporary or short-term care to help a person relearn how to do daily activities, like cooking meals and washing, following a hospital stay. The support provided is available as you recover from an illness or an operation so that you can regain your independence. Free care is provided for a maximum of 6 weeks.
With NHS reablement care, a mix of people from the NHS and social services will support you. The team may include a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker, doctor, carer and a speech and language therapist.
